HKUST Summer School 2026
Eligibility
- Students enrolled in a full-time degree program, at undergraduate level or above, at an institution outside Hong Kong; and
- Have completed at least the first year of the degree program at the home institution by the start of HKUST Summer School
- Students applying without an HKUST Exchange Partner nomination should apply via Open Application and must satisfy HKUST's English Language Admission Requirement
- Students must be age 18 or above by the start of the HKUST Summer School

Students with Nomination
Open Application
With Nomination from HKUST’s Exchange Partners
HKUST accepts nominations from exchange partners for student participation as Exchange Student or Fee-paying Student. If you are student of the below categories, please follow the application steps below:
- Your home institution is a HKUST exchange partner ; AND
- You are nominated by your home institution to the HKUST Summer School either as Exchange Student or Fee-paying Student
Seek Nomination from Your Home Institution
Students from HKUST's exchange partners should seek nomination from the study abroad office of your home institution.
Check with your home institution for their internal procedure, eligibility requirements and timeline. Home institutions can email HKUST Summer School (summer.school@ust.hk) to submit nominations. The nomination period is 15 Nov 2025 - 15 Feb 2026.
Complete HKUST Online Application
After HKUST receives and reviews your nomination, we will contact you to provide details on application procedures and guide you to complete the HKUST online application.
*Applying in the Early Round provides a wider course selection.
Note: There will be no course add/drop period for HKUST Summer School students. Applicants are required to submit their study plan during online application. Once the study plan is submitted, no changes to the study plan will be accommodated. You are advised to consult your home institution in advance if you require their prior approval for your study plan at HKUST.
Submit Student Visa Application
- Most international students will require a student visa .
- Complete the visa application documents and courier the documents to HKUST by 20 Mar 2026.
Offer Acceptance
HKUST will notify you of the admission decision together with your course enrolment results in mid-Mar to late Mar. The course enrolment results indicated in your admission offer will be considered final. No requests for changes to the study plan will be accommodated. Successful applicants are required to accept the offer and the course enrolment results by settling the fees before the payment deadline as stated on the offer letter.
Without a Home Institution Nomination
If you are in either one of the below categories, please follow the application steps below:
- Your home institution is not a HKUST exchange partner ; or
- Your home institution is a HKUST’s exchange partner, but your home institution is unable to nominate you to the HKUST Summer School
Submit Initial Application
Submit the below documents to summer.school@ust.hk to indicate your interest in joining our program before 28 February 2026:
- Endorsement form signed by the Study Abroad Office/School of your home institution.
Complete HKUST Online Application
HKUST will review your submission and contact you with application procedures.
